Following the accusation by a caste group in Tamil Nadu that some scenes in the Jai Beam movie are defamatory to the Vanniyar cast community, many celebrities, activists and fans have been sharing posts with the hashtag #WeStandWithSurya to support the Tamil actor Surya in social media. Anbumani Ramadoss, the state president of the Vanniyar Sangam has sent notices to Surya, Jyotika, Amazon Prime Video and director DJ Gnanavell seeking unconditional apologize and deleting some scenes. Members of the film industry and fans responded by sharing support to the actor Surya. Especially, director Pa Ranjith shared his support to Suriya Sivakumar. director Venkat Prabhu and many cinema artists keep supporting suriya. Director Vetrimaran also posted a support post for surya. He posted that No one can be made to feel lesser for doing the right thing Jaibheem. Suriya is one star who is redefining stardom.
As Criticisms have been leveled against actor Surya for his role in JaiBhim. Surya's house in Chennai T Nagar has been guarded by police who opened fire. Five armed policemen have been deployed outside Surya's house following threats to Surya's family over the Jaibhim film affair.
