MASTER is a movie acted by thalapathay Vijay and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Now, the Netflix site has acquired the OTT digital rights to the master movie for several crores. Here is the information about that and whether Master movie is going to release on Netflix or in theatres.
Thalapathy Vijay acted master film was to be released in April 2020. But, because of COVID-19 pandemic theatres were closed. So, Master movie was unable to release on theatres.
Since November-1, theatres were allowed to run with 50 percent of the seats. Therefore, it was expected that the Master film would be released on Diwali. As there were a number of restrictions, the producers thought, the film would not be profitable and did not come forward to release the Master movie. They only released the Teaser on Diwali. Meanwhile, it was reported that the master movie may be officially released on OTT. Negotiation also took place on about it. But, Director Lokesh Kanagaraj had said in his interviews so far that, Master movie will only be released in theatres. But now, the co-producer Lalit Kumar announced that Master film's OTT digital rights were sold to Netflix.
But when contacted the producers, he said, “No decision has been made on whether to release the Master movie in theatres or on OTT. We only sell digital rights to Netflix. Other than that the movie will not be released on Netflix. Still to be seen in a few days.
